October 6, 2025 - NewHydrogen News Commentary

Hydrogen is charging ahead in racing, in industry, and in global innovation. And the spotlight is getting brighter every week. Hi, I'm Steve Hill, CEO of NewHydrogen, with this week's top hydrogen news.

First up, hydrogen racing is Finally shifting into high gear. Extreme H has announced its inaugural FIA World Cup set for October 9 through 11, 2025 in Saudi Arabia. Over three action-packed days, eight teams will battle it out through time trials, head-to-head duels, and multi-car races, all leading to a dramatic eight car final. The Pioneer 25 Hydrogen Racer packs a 400 kW fuel cell drivetrain built for raw speed, steep climbs, and brutal terrain.

This is hydrogen showcased at the very edge of performance. Stay tuned for more as we get closer to race day. At NewHydrogen, we're working to supply the clean fuel that will power this future. We recently demonstrated Thermal Loop, our breakthrough system that produces hydrogen continuously using only heat and water. No electricity, no fossil fuels, continuous operation is now proven.

Our next step is to refine the chemistry and materials while collecting critical data to guide scale up to a larger unit. We believe Thermaloop can deliver the world's cheapest clean hydrogen and unlock what Goldman Sachs has called a 12 trillion market opportunity.

Next, Formula 1 could run clean. Reports from the UK suggest that hydrogen-powered engines are being seriously considered to join the Formula 1 lineup. Imagine the world's most watched racing series pushing hydrogen at the absolute limit of performance. While the technology is still under development, the momentum is clear. If Formula 1 embraces hydrogen, it will be one of the most high-profile endorsements yet of clean propulsion.

Next, heavy industry is already putting hydrogen to work. Construction has begun on Austria's highforce melt plant, a facility that will produce iron using hydrogen instead of coal. Steelmaking is one of the hardest sectors to decarbonize and accounts for nearly 7% of global CO2 emissions. This project is a tangible step toward cutting those emissions and a powerful example of hydrogen's role in reshaping the foundations of modern industry. Hydrogen is moving from racetracks to furnaces to the very heart of industry. But none of it scales without cheap, clean hydrogen.

That's exactly what we're working on at NewHydrogen. NewHydrogen is a publicly traded company. To see what the future of hydrogen production looks like today, visit newhydrogen.com.
