This week in hydrogen, racing into the future, flying for life, and powering progress with nuclear heat. Hi, I'm Steve Hill, CEO of NewHydrogen with this week's top hydrogen news. First, hydrogen took the spotlight this past weekend at the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Spectators got a glimpse of the future as three hydrogen-powered race cars hit the track. The Alpine Alpenglow Hy4, the Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Yaris H2 concept, and Mission H24's H24 Evo. A dedicated hydrogen village also showcased the fuel's growing role in motorsports.
Hydrogen is proving its versatility beyond factories and trucks and setting the pace on world-class racetracks. Next, United Therapeutics and Robinson Helicopter have announced the first successful test flights of a hydrogen-powered R44 helicopter. It's designed to deliver organs for transplant, and this is the first rotary-wing application of hydrogen we've reported on. It's a compelling example of how hydrogen can meet both speed and zero-emission needs in life critical missions.
Finally, in Japan, the government continues pushing the boundaries of hydrogen innovation by pairing it with nuclear heat. The Japan Atomic Energy Agency has applied to modify its High Temperature Engineering Test Reactor to produce hydrogen directly using thermal energy with the goal of demonstrating the system by 2030. This project shows how Japan is leveraging limited domestic resources to secure energy independence through innovation. And as we reported recently, this kind of high temperature nuclear heat is a perfect match for
Our ThermoLoop technology. From helicopters and racetracks to reactor heat, hydrogen is powering a huge range of possibilities. But here's The bottom line. None of this scales without cheap green hydrogen. And that's why at NewHydrogen, we're developing Thermal Loop, a breakthrough technology that makes hydrogen from heat and water instead of expensive electricity. Visit newhydrogen.com
To learn more about how Thermal Loop works and why we believe it's the key to unleashing the hydrogen future. Thanks for watching and we'll see you again next week.
