From racetracks to runways, hydrogen is on the move. But can the fuel keep up? Hi, I'm Steve Hill, CEO of NewHydrogen, with this week's top hydrogen news. First up, Honda Racing is taking hydrogen to the limit at Pikes Peak. Their latest entry, a hydrogen-powered CRV, will be refueled not at a station, but using a suitcase-sized device.
Developed with Zero Emissions Industries, the FT case weighs under 100 lbs and fits in a carry-on, yet can safely pump hydrogen at race ready pressures. One person can operate it and no infrastructure is required. Now, this isn't the first time that we've seen portable hydrogen delivery. Some of you may remember the NAMX hydrogen SUV concept we reported on last year, which used cartridge style hydrogen packs for range extension. All of these innovations are rethinking what hydrogen refueling can look like, especially in places where stations don't exist yet and may never.
Next up, a small study out of Serbia is raising eyebrows by linking hydrogen to human performance. Researchers tested a group of middle-aged adults who drank hydrogen-rich water for over six weeks while doing resistance training. According to the results, participants experienced lower cholesterol, improved hormone profiles, and even better sleep. The science still needs deeper peer review and larger trials, but it's a glimpse at how hydrogen continues to show up in unexpected places, including wellness.
Last item, Dutch startup Conscious Aerospace has secured $73 million to scale up development of hydrogen electric propulsion systems for aircraft. The funding backs their plan to equip regional planes with hybrid hydrogen fuel cell systems. It's part of a broader push towards zero emissions flight. Aviation is one of the toughest sectors to decarbonize, and this kind of capital shows just how serious the industry is about finding new solutions.
Week by week, we're seeing how deeply hydrogen is starting to embed itself into everything from competition and health to air travel. But behind every one of these headlines is the same underlying issue, the fuel itself. All of this innovation depends on access to green hydrogen that's not just clean and renewable, but cheap. That's exactly what we're working on at NewHydrogen.
Our ThermoLoop technology is being developed to produce renewable hydrogen using cheap heat and abundant water instead of expensive electricity. We're building a lab scale demonstration unit which will be followed by a pilot plant partnership and ultimately commercial licensing.
