H2 Hubs

Hey everybody the day is here the recipients of7 billion dollar in federal grants across 16 States for the development of seven Regional hydrogen hubs were just announced this program is intended to jumpstart the production of clean hydrogen along with the infrastructure we need to get it to Industrial users like steelmakers and cement plants the recipients of the7 billion in federal grants for the development of seven Regional hydrogen hubs were not explicitly mentioned in any report

That I could find but the proposed Hub locations do include Appalachia California the Gulf Coast the Mid-Atlantic the Midwest the Pacific Northwest and also an area referred to as the Heartland which I guess encompasses The Dakotas and Minnesota this funding is a positive step for developers of green hydrogen technology as it will help boost manufacturing and bluecolor jobs while also promoting the production of clean hydrogen today's hydrogen is produced by electrolyzing or splitting water and the

Fuel can be considered clean or low emission if the energy used to power the split is produced using renewable energy nuclear energy or natural gas with carbon capture technology attached the doe has set a Target to increase clean hydrogen output to 10 million metric tons by 2030 and 50 million by 2050 which is fivefold up from today and considers the fuel an ideal option for cutting emissions from tough to decarbonized Industrial users like I just mentioned
