In this week's hydrogen news, hydrogen is defying gravity, literally. From commercial jets to lunar missions, clean flight is getting real, and it's getting real fast. Hi, I'm Steve Hill, CEO of NewHydrogen, with this week's hydrogen news. Let's get started.

First up, Zero Avia just made a big leap towards zero emissions aviation. Their hydrogen electric ZA600 powertrain has already taken a 19 seat aircraft to the skies and now they're moving towards certifying the technology for commercial use. With over $150 million raised and partnerships including giants like American Airlines, Shell and Airbus, Zero Avia is pushing to scale its hydrogen propulsion systems for regional flight by this year.

Unlike battery powered aircraft, hydrogen electric planes offer greater range and faster refueling. Those are key factors for practical airline operations. Meanwhile, Delta and Jet Zero are working to reinvent the aircraft itself. Their new collaboration focuses on a futuristic blended wing body design. Think of it this way. It's like a flying triangle instead of a traditional tube and wing structure.

This design isn't just for looks, although they look pretty cool. It promises to slash fuel burn and emissions by up to 50%. Delta is providing realworld flight operations expertise to help Jet Zero optimize the aircraft for future commercial use. While the first models may run on sustainable aviation fuel, the long-term ambition includes hydrogen integration. Across the Atlantic, a French startup called Beyond Arrow just made history with Europe's first crude hydrogen electric flight.

Their two seat prototype powered by a hydrogen fuel cell and electric motor successfully flew in southern France. This isn't just an experiment. It's a launchpad for what's next. Beyond Arrow is developing a sleek zero emissions business jet capable of flying 1,800 miles on hydrogen alone. They're targeting the private aviation sector

First, but the implications could ripple across the industry. And maybe the boldest hydrogen test of all is happening in space. Honda is teaming up with Sierra Space and Tech Masters to test its advanced regenerative fuel cell aboard the International Space Station. The system splits water into hydrogen and oxygen using solar power, then recombines them to generate electricity, releasing only water as a byproduct.

The concept is designed for longer duration lunar missions, but if successful, it could pave the way for highly efficient closed loop hydrogen systems back here on Earth. At NewHydrogen, we're also focused on redefining what's possible.
